I'm not a body man, but I have someone lined up to do the work. I might have to get some steel and have him make some floor pans. I want it to look close to factory as possible.

so bottom line ... If your going to pay for some one to do the welding .. I would STRONGLY suggest a new glass bed .. may cost a wee bit more on the initial purchace , but in years to come , it will still look brand new .

welding steel .. is still steel .. and suseptable to rust .. and believe me , it will return I have many customers whom think they can replace metal , and cure the problem , but in all due time and money spent and lost ... they call for a new replacement bed .

in case your wondering .. they are super tough , and can easly be used as a stock bed would .

just my 2C

I might have to get one.
Questions:
the fuel filler door, is it metal or fiberglass? (can I get it with no lock?)
can I mount a roll bar in the bed? (not that I'm going to)
is the bed floor/wheel arches flat or "ribbed" as the original?

thanks...

fuel filler is original . so it's metal .

I have a few of them in stock .. new OE ones are no longer avaliable only used . They all came with the lock holes , well here in Canada anyway .. so if you wanted to , it could be closed up .. but I think a lock would be a better choice .. gas prices and all ... your choice .

wheel wells are as stock .. with ribbs .. floor is flat .

the pic says it all .

and yes .. a roll bar can be mounted .. actually fits better then stock because of the non ribbed floor .

Can one have a bed liner sprayed in there, because that bed floor looks pretty slick, and by that I mean slippery.

Line-X, Rhino lining or Herculiner should stick with out any issues with the right surface prep. I am planning on using one of the three on the lower panels on my Trekker, the bed etc is fiberglass. I am sure that Corey's--aka slacker's bed have got a lot better quality than what Winnebago did 25 years ago...

YES .. I suggest to customers , to have a look at it first , and try it out before you plan anything . it "looks" slick .. but the fiber strands really arnt that bad .

probably the biggest issue , is the wait time to get one .

anyway , email me , I dont want to hi-jack the thread.
