Cool I am new to toyota, jus got one cant say i know too much about so far

jus bought 1982 standard longbed pickup. tires it had were dry rot so i bought new 33 12.5 15 micky thompson baja claw radials. The motor tag says it came with 22r, it has a 20r. it has 4spd manual tranny i believe came with the 22r...previous owner took off carburetor so i bought 32/36 electric choke weber carb that ive mounted but havent hooked anything too because i dont know where anything hooks up to. I have pictures of a few different things on the motor i need some info on.

Pirate4x4.com's BB has a good FAQ Section, be sure to read the entire FAQ before you ask any questions over there.

welcome to the world of Toyota! You might want to check on ebay for a Toyota Factory Service Manual for your '82. I bought one for my '81. If you get lucky enough to find one, it is well worth the money as the info is so much more complete vs. what you would find in a Hayne's or Chiltons...

I made the mistake of not grabbing one that the guy said I could take when I was buying some parts, forgot it on the front seat and he sold the cab so im assuming its long gone.

The messed up PO engine/tranny combo seems pretty standard with these old trucks. Mine came with the wrong head for the engine. The VIN said 4runner, the cab is a pickup, and about 300' of wiring for the 8 lights he had stashed everywhere. I'm still trying to undo all the redneck-engineering (and while doing some of my own )

Bolts to the stock carb along with a choke linkage, You need to buy a weber conversion kit I believe. I can get you some pictures of how mines wired tommoro if you like, I have a 22R though(20R carb on it).

Actually, another Yotatech'r sent me some wiring diagrams for a 22R, I can post them up in a bit(gimme a half hour at most).

Heres the one you need, the rest are digrams of the A/C, tail lights etc.. if you need them let me know. From what ive seen in your pics you are missing all of the green connectors(factory), not a big deal... you can get away with butt connectors and tape but its gonna be harder to figure out, You will also need some fusable link if you dont want to fry half the stuff in your cab when your battery falls over and shorts or something like that, ▓▓▓▓▓ happens. Please, for all things good dont use Maretts or just twist your wires together, use butt connectors and tape over them at least.

I can get you pictures of my wiring tommoro if you want, its alot easier than trying to understand a blurry diagram.

I wouldnt sell it, Hard to come by and you might regret it.

Is it still having problems? We can help you get it going, I honestly forgot about this thread.

Id say a good price for the truck would be $2500 or around there if you are going to sell it, but thats what they go for up here.. so it might seem ridiculous.
