doing the 63 chevy spring swap, had one question

i've searched on a few different sites, and pretty much have it figured out, except for one little detail that i'm foggy on. if anyones done this swap, can you tell me if i'm using a single 9 inch shackle setup and relocating my front hanger 11 inches forward from stock, does this necessitate shackle relocator plates and if so how far back from stock should these be mounted?

thank you

What truck are we talking about here? I'm guessing that you have a 1st or 2nd gen because you stated that the front hanger will be moved 11" forward. If you are using a single shackle then I would relocate it back about 4". If you decide to go the double shackle route then you can use the factory shackle hanger. I would start by mounting the spring hangers and then seeing where it would be best to mount the shackle hanger. You will find that it is somewhere around 4". If you try to just use a 9" shackle the angle will be fairly severe and you will loose some of the lift height. Why not take the extra time and relocate it?
