cd player mount ideas

the only thing i dont like about the pre84s is there really is no place to mount a cd player, i love my music and it sucks not being able to put a system in there with out doing alot of fab work. anways what do you guys think? where should i put it? i just replace the the dash with a oem one with no cracks cuts(even the factory radio) and
i wanna keep it like that so the only place i could think of mounting it is in the glove box. but the draw back would be when i want to adjust anything while driving it would be kinna a pain. another idea was to cut out the vent right below the dash and mount it there but the blower is to big and the cd player wont go far enough back to mount flush with the dash . well ill leave it up to all u wonderful yotaholics, what worked fro you guys? pics would be great to,thanks for any input

where the old tape player is it would look cool to fab up a sheet of diamond plate and make a piece to go the length of the bottom where the tape player is and cruise control then u can cut a slot for the cd player thats how i would do it

if you have 2 single seats tuffy products do a center console that will just sqeeze inbetween the seats.
it has a cubby box ans seperate cd/radio slot and all lockable

Here is where a previous owner added a detachable face CD player in mine, just enlarged the stock location:

Monstertruckman's idea about the Tuffy security console is a good idea...An alternative that I will using is an Ammo can as a center console(not for the radio but it would work the same as the tuffy but a lot cheaper)...I have got a ton from my army days...will be adding a locking mechanism and some padding to the top of mine..

edit: looking at mine, the install has got some gaps...but not a DD so not too worried about it. Still haven't even hooked up the speakers from when I put the doors back on after taking off the tube doors...guess I need to do that
Another idea might be the glove box, use some plexi or aluminum as a mounting surface...

I put mine on top where that little tray is on top of the factory radio and put my sat radio where the factory radio is. I don't know where any pics are of it though at the moment. It fit in there quite nicely though. At least thats another idea.

On mine the PO replaced the entire bezel with a custom plastic one. Just took it to the bandsaw for the CD player and CB.

wow guys thanks a bunch for all the ideas, i really like that idea about putting a different center console in there i think that would be the best because its lockable and it hides the cdplayer. i also wouldnt have to cut up that mint new dash i found so anyone got a pic of it in their rig?

thanks for the info guys, for got to report back and post up what i ended up doing, i put the cd player in the glove box and it really isnt that bad. infact i really like it there because i can close it and no one would ever no i had a cd player. i also have the mp3 player hookup in the front and i can still close the glove box and run the wire through the bottom.check it out.

i also added these in the doors, im really happy with the set up it works perfect.

If the cruise does not work and it's not going to work, I would put it in there and tap it into the radio so you can use both. Otherwise I would ditch the tape deck and put it there.

well again i didnt want to cutup the dash, i wanted to keep it stock looking so the glovebox was the best bet. and it worked out great.
