Yeah I guess if you never get on the highway you're fine, but even 4.88's in my truck with 30x9.50's would suck.

Went out with the gps today.
Tires are 29 inches tall In forth gear (L 43 4 speed)
55mph 3300 rpm
60mph 3600 rpm
65mph 3900 rpm
70mph 4200 rpm

It dosen't matter how many different gear calculators you use I still wouldn't order anything without counting the teeth on the gears. Why do you think you have anything other than factory gears in your truck, '80s came with 4.37 gears, I don't know many people who would do a gear change for that small of an improvement.

we will be tearing it down and counting teeth on the 7th. My tranny guy thinks the ring and pinion are fine and the slop is from warn axel splines and gears

Rotating the rear wheel 20 time and getting 48 and 3/4 revolutions was spot on. Counted ring and pinion ...it a 4.88
