you dont need hysteer either. i will eventually do hysteer no doubt about it but right now i dont go through a lot of rocky sections where your articulated on multiple rocks at a time, i've wheeled mine pretty good already and have had no plroblems with the stock steering, wheel what you have till it doesnt cut it anymore, theres no point in doing mods if your not even running on trials difficult enough where you need them. you'd be surprised what your stock truck can do if you just go out and try. as you wheel you'll know what you need for the type of trials you run. what works for some, might not be worth it for others.
here's a pic of my truck after the three in downey's up front and the rear is stock. it will still flex more. this was right after i put the front on. nothing special but it working for me for now. thought id put it in here so you first gen guys could see how it looks with the downey's and stock rear.

well hell thats pretty damn good flex for a set of $60 3" lift leaves.....
hey plumbrbob..ya wanna sell that 4" lift???? LOL....i would TOTALLY buy it from ya...if i was going to keep my '80..but sadly it has to go

thanks camo, im probably going to put a one inch longer shackle in the rear and then change the upper shock mount and run longer shocks for some more flex out back till i can do the 63 chevy's.

my stock replacement leaves on my '80 flex allmmoostttt that much..but the passenger side front shock is frozen so i know it has more in her..lol
atleast i think they're stock?..they have writing on them..but nothing special..lol

yepp..LOL..the '80 will go first...then my dads TDI jetta..then we'll start work on the '92 4runner..and when it gets up and running good..i'll start putting the '86 up for sale
i wanna keep the '80 SOOOO BADD...but it's not technically mine..it has dads name on the title..so it's his..LOL..i wanna lift it..weld the axles..throw on some 38's..(along with longs lol) and then drop a 350V8 in it...ohhh myy gaaawwwddd...that'd be soo sweeet

yeah that would be sick. im making my 81 an around rig, still keeping mine street legal and good on and off road. i dd a 04 tdi jetta. i need it for fuel economy haha.
