Hose reel cart

My cheap plastic hose reel from '91 broke today.
I had it mounted on my house where I use to live long ago, and today hooking it up to the spigot to wash the FJC I was pulling out the hose and it fell apart.
Water was gushing everywhere.

Looking at Lowes site I see some nice ones on wheels.
That is the kind I want, as the one I had was a wall mount and I would jsut set it on the ground, and of course it was hard to turn the crank as it would dig into my shoes as I hled it down with my foot.

Good gosh, they are expensive at Lowes.

Anyone know of a source where they are cheaper?

Hmmm, Sears has one for $30, I wonder how it would hold up?

Seems most of the nice steel cart ones either at Sears or Lowes are going for $150 plus.

Anyone have that $30 Sears one above?
It would not be staying outside, it would get ripped off here.
I keep my current one in my water heater closet along with all of my wash/detail supplies.

PS...

Local Fred Meyers has one like this Sears one.
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...seBVCookie=Yes

Sears wants $70, Fred Myers has them for $40, may have to check it out.
No wheels, but at least the hand crank is up off the ground and you can turn it easily.
This could be picked up easily too and stored inside.

PS...

The one at Fred Meyers did not have the swivel base, but it was the same model as the Sears one on sale for $35.
Fred's was $39, only a few bucks more, and I would have spent that in gas going to Sears.

My new hose reel

I have this.

Comes in real handy when you're done working on your truck and you don't want to cause a mess in the bathroom sink.

Northern equipment catalog. They're around a hundred bucks, metal, airfilled tires, and a ten year warranty.

I second the notion to drop big bucks on a great model.

Peter, Fred Meyers had one of those.

I will get a much nicer metal one with wheels on it later, but there are mods first for the FJ, so this one will suffice for now.

Coming up:
ARB bumper with my old Warn XD 9000 winch
Old Man Emu 3" lift all around
Cooper Discoverer STT muds

Corey, I have a couple of these. Not the greatest quality, but with the lifetime warranty who cares? The most heavily used one got wobbly after five years of smacking it around. I took it back to Home Depot and walked out with a new one. Not bad for $30, though you may have to tighten a fitting or two before use.

Hmm, link didn't translate. Click on "Watering", then look for the Ames ReelEasy ReelEasy® 225 ft. Hose Reel Cart
Model 2386275. Hose and nozzle are extra.

Oops, see you already have one.

Peter, nice rig, never seen anything like that. Where and how much? What length hose will it hold?

Bob, that is a good price too.
Looks almost identicle to the Sears one at the top of the thread also for $30.
