Props to WitchHunter Injector Cleaning
YotaTechies,
If you need your fuel injectors cleaned I highly suggest you send them to WitchHunter Performance. They were quick and thorough. Let me tell you how impressed I was. I sent my package on FRIDAY at 5pm by USPS. On Monday about 4pm PST, the owner called me to confirm my CC#, and let me know they were cleaned and ready to ship back.
Today (Thursday) I have them back in my hand. Included in the return package was all the parts they replaced, a detailed list of test results and a nice visual graph.
(A side note. I ordered parts from Marlin Crawler last Thursday and Engine Builder opening hour on Friday. Both shipped by UPS. Those packages have not arrived. USPS was faster getting the injectors there and back. I chatted with the mail man today and he said, USPS now is faster and cheaper up to 75 lbs than UPS or FedEX.)
Below are some after pict. Sorry I don't have any before picts. I will just say they were ugly. All the caps and rings were cracked.
All four injectors back.
Close up of a single injector after cleaning
The old replaced parts. (A nice conformation they did the work.)
Top half of the test results
Bottom half of the test results.
Bottom line is they do a good job, prove it, and do it will little hassel or money.
(Side note #2: I sent in my injectors labled by cylinder # and called to make sure they would number the injectors in the same order. He said yes, if they come with numbers they keep the numbering. Otherwise they randomly assign numbers. My #1 piston had bad rings and #3 cylinder had a leaky head gasket and was nicely steam cleaned from the leaked coolant. I wanted to see how the injectors responded to those two events.)
I was quite suprised by how well off the injectors were after 20 years. I did use the Lucas Oil fuel/injector cleaner quite a bit, that may have kept the injectors in better shape.
Here is their info

Pretty easy, just tedious 'cause all the harness stuff is intertwined thru the intake. If the gasket is in bad shape(upper intake and EGR) then replace them while you're in there. I carefully pulled the upper intake off and kept as much stuff connected and gently positioned it out of the way. Soak down the egr bolts.
The big thing here is theres gonna be GAS lines being disconnected so make sure you follow the FSM and don't forget to disconnect the battery!!!!
