Toolangi/Murrindindi
This area is about 50 mins drive from my home, so I get up there a lot.
It is the Toolangi State Forest and Black Range State Forest, which also include the Murrindindi River and scenic reserve. In Australia we have national parks and State forests. State forests have the better tracks while national parks have the better camping facilities etc.
The areas in the photos are mountain rainforest country consisting of mainly Mountain Ash trees.
Driving through to rescue a couple of Irish tourists, it took me 3 hrs to snatch, winch and tow them about a kilometre out of this bog hole and back to the main track,
Every time I got them free they bellied out again,
A buddy playing in one of the areas all year bog, some are fed by underground springs. This photo is in the height of summer and it was about 35 degrees celsius,
The same boghole,
Imagine this in winter time,
More irishman towing,
Me and dad doing our bit to help the rangers, actually we just wanted to keep going instead of turning around,
The day I first tested my Claws ,
had to test them thouroughly,
This ones in the middle of summer too,
Same forest another pals seriously trick Surf (japenese 4 Runner imported and suped up),
Flexing the Surf,
Me again,
Same bog hole as the irishman only in summer, took us 2 1/2 hours to get this blokes truck and his mates truck out,
Winter again and this is me bailing out of Rocky Track, I am crossing it and heading for the chicken track. Rocky Track is widely accepted as the most hardcore track in Aus'. I am just not hardcore enough for it,
If you liked these guys, I have some pics of Gembrook I can post tommorow.
Cheers

Cool pics man, they take me back. Finding holes like that in the Kroombits on a 41C day is pretty unreal.

Another trip to the "Langi
A mates 4 Runner,
He got pretty stuck in this hole,
Another mates Nissan Patrol,
A little bit of air time for my mate,
Me and the mate on top of the hill the Nissan couldn't get up,
End of the day saw my motor drowned in mud and basically stuffed,
So I picked up one of these, General Motyors Holden, 304 Cui, 185Kw, 340Nm Fuel injected V8,
Should be in the truck and running in another month.
Cheers

dang dude, that is gonna be seriously sick when you are done!!
I chose the Holden 5.0 litre over a Lexus 4.0 litre because it will deliver it's power and torque at more 4WD freindly revs.
