Calico has some good trails. They have easy trails that pretty much any stock truck can go on and they have some technical trails. I have only been there a few times as I'm just getting into wheeling myself. One thing to watch out for, though, there are alot of roads that lead to dead-ends. It's easy to get lost. We spent about 4 hours last weekend finding our way back to camp. Let me know if you'd like to meet and hit up the trails out there. I'm located in Hesperia (High Desert near Victorville).

First get yourself a map like "Southern & Central California Atlas & Gazetteer" or go to AAA and check out Ortega Hwy (74) off of the 5. Awesome views! It is in the Cleveland National Forest so if you want to hike or frollick get a day pass for $5 at the ranger station. Chicks dig it! Good for a day trip. But if you want some REALLY GOOD trails in and around OC find a 4X4 my friend. Oh, and keep us posted on your trail runs!

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I was able to do Willow Creek, Cleghorn Ridge and Pilot Rock Road all in a 2wd Runner. All three were very easy, mostly access roads.
