I'll try here...I bought my 90 4runner with a 3.0 a couple months ago. All i read is bad bad bad about the 3.0's. Well i didnt know that when i bought it, so i gotta make the best of it. I love the rig so im keeping positive with all its querks. Ive already found a lot of things the guy lied about when he told me all thats wrong with it. It has a bad tick that gets louder as i accelerate. But it seems to run fine otherwise, well except the 10mpg!!! He told me the lifters needed to be agjusted. A mechanic told me its a shim issue. But after reading different things on here i started looking at the injecters. Today i used a screw driver to listen around and i hear the loudest ticking coming from the delivery pipe. So im hoping the issue is up there and not in the lifters or valves. Could i be right? And what more testing can i do to narrow the search down?
