The engine builder claims it runs perfect at factory timing spec but that was not my experience and when you consider the geometry changes with the heads and cams, it can't be so.

Throw out the timing lite.... listen to the engine and lock the timing accordingly. Power time they bitch where its happy.... in my case around 23 degrees and go with that. Power timing is a feel thing.... if you don't feel comfortable out in free space, get an old hand to do it for you.
