    The only difference between an early 22R and a 20R is the intake side of the head and intake manifold. A 20R head bolts on just the same as a 22R head and requires a 20R intake manifold/1980 style thermostat housing available from rockauto.com.

    I. Am interested in the build that you refer to .I have a complete 20r motor and I would like to use pre84 22 r block. If I understand I can install block and use all the other parts to my 20r is this correct ? If I have other questions can you help me through this build? Thanks,Jim
