Loud buzzing sound when accelerator is pressed down

I just got my 90 SR5 4 runner a few weeks ago...I love it except for one thing. Everytime (cold engine and warm) that I press the accelerator down it sounds like I am driving a stinkin go cart. The engine is fairly new (Orient Toyota 3.0 V6 w/ roughly 65K on the new engine) I just cant seem to find out what the sound is. I see where the exhaust is attached coming out of the exhaust manifold but I cant tell if I have a exhaust leak or what...Please help me with this annoyance

Isaac

Hd Downey rear coils / RB 1" body lift / Aisin Manual hubs / rear mounted tool box (custom made by my dad) / Sony X plode Stereo / Orient 3.0L rebuilt engine/ stubbs sliders.

check all exhaust joints in the morning before your exhaust warms up

Check any heat shields whilst you're under there too.

The buzz may be coming from the air box - I drilled holes in the bottom to
allow more air into the filter and intake. All of the exhaust gaskets were changed when I installed that engine - unless there is a hole in the muffler.

Start it up when cold and roll around underneath feeling the pipe for "puffing"
that is where the exhaust leak would be. Also check for loose or bent heat sheilds - there are quite a few - they could be vibrating or rubbing on something when the rpm increases.

Could just be time for a new muffler = that one has been beat on several times while wheeling.

Noah's Daddy's got the bug I think !

It's a 3slow - that sound is what we call "acceleration" in lack of any real rate of change of speed...

heres another trick using seafoam use a quarter of a can like the instructions say when it starts to smoke put somthing over the tail pipe make a quick lookover the exaust too see if smoke is leaking out.
or as we did it a buddy put a glove over the tail pipe every few secs as i looked over everything on his car.
