High pitch 'metal on metal' squeel

My 2000 Tundra auto has developed a high pitched squeel while I'm under way and it isn't the fan belt type of sound. I can't hear it with the windows rolled up but it's hard to miss when I'm going down the road with the windows down. What should I be looking at: wheel bearings, CV? I've had this truck since I got it off the lot in 2000 and it has low miles with easy use so far.

Thanks

indicators in the brake pads are letting you know that they need your attention? Does the sound go away when you hit the brakes?

Probably the indicators..I just had the same problem and something is wrong with my pads and rotor on one side and the indicator onthepad is going along like nuts.

Take off the wheels and calipers and have a looksee.

can you tell where the noise is coming from? If it is coming from the engine bay it might be a pulley going out.
