DVD-R DL media for LG Writers

Anyone here use Dual Layer (DL) media on LG DVD writers?

I need to backup some school work and was thinking of writing them to DL discs. I would like to know if anyone has had good results with a particular brand. These discs are quite expensive and I dont want to end up with a lot of coasters.

Thanks.

I have not had a lot of luck with DL media and my HP DVD burner, it seems that everything written to the second layer is difficult or impossible to read. I have also tried burning movies to DVD-DL's without any luck, they won't work on the computer or the DVD player. If I were you, I'd use single layer ones instead, much cheaper. Even better, use DVD-RW so you can change them later if you want.

yeah I was thinking the same thing about the single layer media. The only thing is I will have more discs stored away now. I do agree with the price comparison. thanks for the quick reply.
