if its going into your 94 your can use your stock 3.0 alternator. at least thats what mt_goat found.
i had to change mine to a later model case because my truck was an 89 and 86-92 where differnt from 93-98

You don't say? Upon comparing both alternators side by side the cases are different. It will bolt up?

hmm well thats what goat said. i had to change mine personally, but it was on a 89 like i said. so anyway i went to a junk yard and got a core alternator and a good alternator for a tacoma. then i switched the voltage regulator i think is what it is. its the thing where the harness plugss in. i switched that off of my 3.0 alternator and put it on the 3.4 alternator. didnt have to do any changes to wiring that way.
on my stock alternator the lower adjustment tab stuck to far out to bolt to the stock 3.4 bracket.
