Nippon 08922-02011 Oil Filter

I have come across some Nippon oil filters with the part number 08922-02011 for sale. I think that these are most likely the same as the original OEM filters that were made in Japan. Not the new filters with ZZ in the part number made whereever.

Does anybody know if these are the same higher quality Japanese filters?

i'm not too sure about the nippon number but the toyota filters with that exact same number are made in the USA, a rebadged purolator. They now supercede to a 90915-YZZG1 at the dealership.

Here is a pic

Don't mind the Toyota element I kind of ripped it apart lol. The Toyota filter is made in Thailand and the Nippon in Malaysia. The Toyota design worries me because the middle tube thingy only pressure fits to the bypass assembly. It goes through the filter element and then the bypass assy just slides in place on the bottom. I would think oil could get through that seam unfiltered because it's a loose fit...

I do see what you mean about that piece just sits there, those are the filters I use so that makes me a little nervous.
