1989 4x4 w/tacoma wheels

Hello,
I did a search and could not find the answer. I have a 1989 4x4 with the tacoma wheels and currently running 265/75/15 tires..... will 31x10:50's work with the tacoma wheels without rubbing ? I have stock suspension ?

Yes. And depending on spring sag, you truck may be able to handle up to 32" without rubbing, tho that varys for every person.

31x10.50s came stock with the SR5 version; I've been running them on my '94 for years now. There was a poll thread not too long ago about tires....I believe about 60% of all folks on this forum are running 31.10.50s.

Thanks for the info. I have seen some 90's trucks running 31's but never with the 95-98 tacoma wheels. I guess ny big concern was the backspacing on the wheels and 31's.

thanks again and very good site you have here

Did they change backspacing on the later models?

not for sure..... but my truck came with the steel wheels/235's and i didn't know if the backspacing was any different between them and the tacoma wheels.
