It smells bad when I turn on the air and it isn't just when the compressor is on.

On my other car there is a cabin micro-filter I replaced. Does the 88 4rnr have one? If so, there is probably some 20 year old insects and leaves rotting in it stanking things up.

Any good DIYs?

I grab a can of Lysol "Spring Waterfall" scent and spray the fresh air intake, then switch to recirculate and spray down by the passenger floor where it recirculates. Does the trick nicely. Ahhhhhh, so fresh.

I would be very impressed if Toyota put micro filters in the 88 4rnr's. Probably just a piece of foam to keep the big stuff out.
