32x11.5x15 Cooper's/Mtr's

Thinking up getting some 32x11.5x15 Cooper SSTs or MTRs strictly for the trails. However, I was wanting to get peoples opinons on it first. What I am concerned about is loosing more power adding 32s. My truck is auto so that is another thing I am taking into consideration. For those of you out there who have or running 32s w/ auto tranny how is the ride? Is it worth it getting 32 as second set for the trails? I see lots of times runs where 32s at minimum are needed. I just like to get some ideas so I can make a decision to either get 32 or just stick w/ my 31s.

Thanks for help guys.

Steve

I have a set of Goodyear M/T's mounted on Mickey Thomson Classic II's for sale if you want to go used. They are 315/75/16 (I think) but they are actually 31.5/11. PM me if interested.

I believe that its really worth it. I've been able to go through things with my 32x11.5x15 mud kings that 31x10.5x15 mtr's havent been able to. You do lose power, but thats what engine mods are for. ISR, K&N, and a decent exhaust & you'll be fine with them. Highway is where it hurts you the worst. Trying to cruise 75mph up hills is hard to do. Im putting some new 32's right back on mine. Tim

Thanks Tim! I am most likely going to get the 32s. I figure I will be replacing my leaking exhaust manifold w/ some new headers which will hopefully help w/ some added power. Than I have my RB 1" body lift that will be going on after too. So the 32's will go on last. Then hopefully I will be done for a while and will just enjoy the truck.

Thanks again.

You'll be pleased that you did. Let us know how it turns out. Im thinking about doing headers too. Kinda hesitant because of the heat on the floor however. Hard to come up with the cash being in school and all though. Guess if i cant afford i wont worry about it. Tim

I just put on 32's and I'm losing about 50-60 miles per tank w/stock 4.10's.

Just so you know...

Baz,
Are you taking into account the milage difference already w/ having the bigger tires? If yes, than wow that is a major drop in gas milage. I plan to still keep my 31s for DD driving.

I havent really figured out what the discrepancy is w/the speedometer being off. Kinda forgot about that but I'm getting 260 miles from a tank where i used to get 300-320. If anyone can figure out what the corrected MPG would be that would be awesome.

I am not sure what % its off w/ the 32s. The 31s I believe I read somewhere its like 10% off or something like that. I am not 100% sure of that fact. But I figure w/ the 32s it should be somehwhere around there if not a little higher.

Mine is correct. Typically if I fill all the way up and use bout a full tank i'll get 235-240 miles to a tank. Thats a 3.0 auto w/ 32's. No isr included. Tim

So, this means it would read 4mph more than what I'm actually doing? Anyone have the actual formula for correcting MPG?

Sorry for the threadjack but I think its still somewhat on topic .

So I will be getting 32x11.5x15 Dunlop Mud Rovers next week. Americas Tire should have them in next Wed or so. I wanted to know if I regeared to 4:88s would that put the truck back into the right spot so that I don't loose power on the street and trail? I have been researching and reading about w/ Auto's the gearing should be next level up. I don't really want to go to 5:29 or anything like that since I still DD this truck. So would the 4:88s be good if I am running the 32s for the trails and 31s for the street?

Thanks
