e-choke problems

My electronice choke on my 84 22r is giving me nohting but problems. it wont set right so when i start it it usually just dies right off. i give it one pump before starting it. it runs super rich while warming because i haev to hold it myself at about 1500rpm for a minute then it will finally idle by itelf. can i adjust somthing or what do i do. i want my truck to start right up liek it used to. Just sitting for more then 10 minutes just slighty cooled off it is still a little pain to keep running.
