Radio turns off after amp installed
I installed a new amp in my 4 Runner and it works fine. But today on the way to work the radio (Alpine CDA-9856) would play for about 10 minutes and then switch off the whole system would power down. I would have to turn the radio back on. I dont know if i dont have a good ground or is the thing just getting too hot. When I went back there it was warm but it wasnt hot so I dont know whats going on.

first off i would try to identify whether you were actually losing total power to the radio or not, but it sounds more like an inmpedance problem between your amp and the radio too me, i would probably start there
just a thought?

It's grounded to the seatbelt clip bolt. its just temporary because I havnt mounted my amp to the back of my seat yet once I do that imma put it onto a heavier bolt but I will probably do that right now just to rule that one out.
And yes it is a total power down. The head unit turns off everyhting just shuts off.

OK I just regrounded it. Ill see if that changes anything on the drive back from work. oh also I had the windshield wipers on today and like I said today is the only day I did it. are the windshield wipers pulling any juce... and is that causing the radio to shut off?
