New HU - cant read display in sunlight!
#1
So...I had a new Pioneer installed on Monday morning. Picked up the 4R and drove home. On the way, I realized that it was impossible to see the blue numbers on the display from the drivers position on a sunny day!
You have to be a contortionist to get to the right angle to read it!
I figured maybe there was a contrast setting that needed to be changed. I couldn't find one so I went back today to complain. The install guy said the one in his car is hard to see too. I explained that I did not care what his did
And that I didn't like it and want to know what they will do about it. They won't refund my money, but they will install another stereo of a comparable value. I spent $179 on the unit I have now.
Can any of you offer a brand or model that doen't have blue numbers? Or advise me of one that you can read in the daylight?
Thanks
Todd

alpine!
they make great HU's and just pick the model that will have the features you need.
They usually have green numbers. I've installed an Alpine deck in a '74 Triumph TR6 which is a TINY little convertable and i never heard a complaint from the owner about the sun being a problem. My sister has one, my dad has one in his triumph that is about 25 years old, I have one, my brother has one...They my #1 choice!
BTW pioneer makes EXCELLENT equpiment as well. Just pick one with diffrent colors!
