Rock Guard film installed today

This was preconfigured into the purchase price of my new rig.
My supervisor has the stuff on his black Lexus car, and he likes it.

It is professionally installed at a place right down from my dealer.
This places services all of the local dealerships.

It is a thin protective film that is applied to the leading edges of the doors, the door handle surrounding area, about a good foot or more up the hood, and also in front.
Also done were the amber lights up front, the mirrors and their lamps on them, and of course the headlamps.

This protects the paint from rock chips pretty good.

Here are some pictures of the film.
Kind of hard to see in the sunlight when I took the pics.

Down side is I really wanted to spend Saturday washing, claying, and getting a good coat of Griot's Best Of Show wax on it, but I was told this stuff must cure for 6 days without being washed or waxed.

This will give me some time this weekend to plan out my CB installation, and maybe get the Slee Hi-Lift mounts mounted up to my roof rack.

Perhaps it is time for a "build up" thread so that all this can be in one massive compilation of FJ modifying craziness rather than spread out.

corey,

ever since i put it on my own 4runner, i am a believer of these products. we put it on my wife's gs300 and you can hardly tell its on. and its black too.

the thing you need to do is to keep the wax off the edges of the film. otherwise, you can see the film

I already have a buildup thread in here, but I do not consider this any part of the mods I have done.

Bob, it will be to hard to keep the wax off of the edges of the stuff, but I will be sure to remove the wax good when I get around to it.

86, my boos has had good luck with it, and if it does discolor, no worries on my end.
I mainly want it to protect the paint for awhile.

On the 4Runner I could of cared less, but when you drop some coin on a rig like this, I want the paint to look nice for awhile.

Next mod coming up, gotta replace those lamps in the mirrors with phasers.

Yea, I love this stuff as well. The newer stuff, in the past 3 years is really good and won't fade and is like a rock. I put it on my s2k and love it.
