Anybody have some good overall shots of the Downey header/Y-pipe combo installed? I'd like to get an idea of how it's all tucked in underneath the truck.

Looked at the Thorleys and I like the price, but I dont like how the p-side pipe is below the T-case cross-member.

I was about to pull the trigger on the NWOR pipes, but cost is always a factor. I believe the NWOR to be a better product but it is a lot more scratch and they cant ship for 30 days.

Who has the Downeys and doesnt like them? I read a day or 2 ago that one guys carpet and cables have been melted by them. Dont want that at all.

Any help on which way to go?

Don't get Downey's... have an exhaust shop fab your own. You'll save a ton:

I'll take a couple of photos for you tonight and post tomorrow. I'd agree with the recommendation to get the muffler shop to custom fab the pipe and connection. I'm happy with how mine turned out -- just not the overall result of having the headers.

You mean have them fab up the Y-pipe by itself? Do like the Downey headers?

I'm still inclined toward the NWOR headers, as I've heard they are of the best quality available, even though they have their own issues with service.

Going to a shop for "custom fab" sounds like it = mega-$$$.

Does anyone have experience with custom fabbing from the headers back? what should it cost? what should I watch out for? I'm going over to a great exhaust shop tomorrow so I guess I'll have more of an idea then.

I have a Magnaflow muffler and hi-flow cat on the truck now so those will be used.

Don't be knockin' my bling bars.

I think it was about $200 for the entire new exhaust... headers to the tailpipe (already had a muffler and cat). Connections were welded everywhere, which is choice because clamps leak.
