Brake Controller for trailer on 98 Tacoma

I am about to wire my 98 Tacoma for an electric brake controller for a trailer. Do I splice into the brake light wire by the brake switch or is there another location? I searched the forum and the newer trucks seem to have a wire in the glove box? do i have something similar on my '98?

splice into the green/yellow wire in the kickpanel going to the rear of the truck for the brake switch actuator. i got the same truck you do.-- if by chance its different, simply test for 12v when the pedal is pressed and thats the wire.

You, sir, are the man !!!

Thanks !!!!

I'll check this morning. My brain must have been locked. Of course there has to be a wire from the cab going to the rear. How else are the rear lights activated? :pat:

Thanks so much !!!
