Need U-Haul wiring harness adaptor info

I searched all the threads containing "UHaul" and didn't see anything mentioned. Can anyone tell me exactly what type of adaptor I'll need to connect to a standard U-Haul trailer harness? My truck has what I believe is the stock flat 4 connector. Do all U-haul trailers use a 7 pin? Is it blade or round? Can I get an adaptor at Wal-Mart or Advance Auto?

BTW - I'm moving from Virginia to Arizona on Memorial day. Pulling a 4x8 trailer. Wish me luck.

thxxxxxxx

I think the guy at Uhaul told me that the adapter to go from 4 pin flat to their trialer was included with the trailer but i may be wrong. I think their trialer harness is actually a 3 pin??? I bought my 4 pin connector harness from uhaul i think it included the adapter to go from 4 to 3 pin. sorry i can't be more definate, i sold the truck with the harness still in the box just a few days ago.

Uhaul does this just so you have to buy their crap...ingenius marketing ploy, but a PITA otherwise. Just BUY the adapter and keep it for life...that way you aren't buying their adapter every time you need a trailer.

A necessary evil...

depending on the u-haul location. some toss it in with the rental... others make you buy it. sometimes its already on the trailer.

3 wire because they pull the ground through the hitch ball which is a really crappy design.
dont be surprised to see a 4th white wire plugged into your flat 4 and then the end is stipped back 2" and the bare copper wrapped around the top of the weird threaded connection mechnism they use.
