I've been slowly tinkering with my future computer's configuration at Newegg. It'll be a while before I can build, but I can't wait. Here's what I have so far:

Athlon 64 X2 Machine





I might go with an Opteron processor instead of the X2 Athlon. I'm still undecided on that yet. The Opteron would be able to handle multi-threaded apps a little better due to it's architecture, but the X2 is supposed to be a little faster.

The two 250 gig HD's will be in Raid 0 for 500 gigs.

The two video cards will be configured in SLI.

I'm also probably going to hook it up to this monitor:

Dell 20.1



I might go bigger on the monitor if my budget allows.

I can't wait to build it. Let me know what you guys think.

I was going to go all out and build myself an AMD X2 machine too, but since I upgraded my vid card and memory around Xmas time, my PC really smokes now.

Plus I want to do some stuff to the FJ after it arrives.

One thing.
Substitute that 2007 FPW LCD for the older one like I have, the 2005 FPW.
Reason, I have read many a complaint on the 2007 one.
I think I read it on DSL Reports a few weeks back, not sure.
But if you search over there it might come up.
