Obvioulsy I ran into an unforseen problem where as the installation of my lift went flawlessly*. But after the install of the 285/75/16 TSL SSR's on the stock 16x7 rims Ive noticed some light rubbing from the upper a arms on the tire. Now obviously it isnt that bad or I would have switched to my other set of wheels 265/70/16 AT's. Yet the dilema in selection comes into play are the 1.5" wheel spacers going to kick my tires out to far? I kind of like the stock tucked into the wheel wells look. But whats a look anyway,,,, on the flip side the Sonoran steel option isnt bad either but $50 more plus an initial core charge.

im guessing you are running 285s?

Id get new rims or get the SS shaved a-arms. Talk to JGM, I think he might have some for sale.

 

The spacer option looks a bit strange with 16x7 rims IMO. I would do the rims option. Absolutely rims if you have the big "limited" flares. This will get the wheels more even with the flares if you go 4" backspacing with a 16x8 rim.

 

You could also do a search for fitting larger tires. I personnaly have rims with 4.5"BS and SS shaved upper "a" arms so I can fit 35s. But I now have rubbage at full turn on the frame. It basically boils down to what you want and what you will be comfortable with

 

Check this out there is minimal rubbing at extremes and I mean minimal otherwise you would hear it. the only place she rubs is on the tire itself I have had swampers in the past on other vehicles and their sizing like most companies varies. So as far as frame rub goes there is barely any.

Ok well I did find some wheel spacers on ebay for $69 a set, went ahead and purchased those. I figured even if I get SS shaved arms I have quite a few close Toyota friends that could use them in the event I dont like them. They are 1" and look to be identical to the type I found through Inchworm, Marlin and the like. I did get some idea that I may need a wheel adapter with a hubcentric center "WTF" to late for that Ill see if I cant fab something up so the wheels go on dead center, if not I guess I will have no choice but to sell both sets of 16" wheels and buy the LX 450 wheels uggg . Trial and error but I guess thats what it takes sometimes.
