Front axlestub won't come out!!!!

I noticed my front diff on my 88 4runner was leaking a week after I had my truetrac and gears put in the front. I took it back to my friends Toyota shop to get it resealed. It was leaking where the axlestub connects to the housing. When he tried to take the axle out, it wouldn't budge. He has all the necessary tools and pullers but it won't budge. ANybody had this problem? He said it all went together fine when he originally put it together. As of today he sent it to a machine shop to see if they can pull it out.

Its the axle stubs to be exact. I know a tension clip of some sort holds them in. I can only guess that is whats causing the problem.

From the FSM it seems like you need some kind of puller to get the side axles out.
