dealer installed alarm ignition starter cutoff problems

my car is a 1996 4runner limited
I have the dealer installed (im assuming that it is, there is a thing in the glove box with the paperwork about it being added for 500 bucks or something) alarm on my car and recently it has decided to activate the ignition starter cutoff feature. I never use the alarm, no need for it and i dont want the problem to get worse. has anyone else had this problem?
I go to start the car, turn the ignition, it turns everyhting on (ac, radio ect..) but i get nothing more when i click to the start position, no lights dim, no solonoid clicks, nothing. I ususally have to let it sit for a couple of hours and I guess it resets itself. i have nearly been late to work and other stuff, trying to find other rides.

my question is, where is the alarm box located? I could not find one for the life of me, and second, how can I disable this feature? I am partial to just removing it entirely, but I would like to use the keyless remote thing if possible.

(sorry if its on the wrong section, i searched too)

its probably pretty easy to find, either under the steering column, or in the drivers kick. Try flashing the lights (high beams) before trying to start the car. If it consists, take it to BestBuy or Circuit and get it uninstalled...or get another keyless installed. They'll have to un-install your old one for the new one. Where are you located? If you're around here...I'd rip it out for $5.

Do you have the two button toyota remote? If so, the alarm box is under your driver's seat. Good luck..

Do you know if it is a factory alarm or aftermarket?
Might want to take a look at the pics in my signature for alarm install to give an idea of what you are looking for.

If it is the factory alarm it should be under the driver's seat because that is where the factory harness hookups are.

You can remove by reversing the install process (but you can't just have auto locks and no alarm):
