I just got a 02 Sport 4x4 and I have a quick question. The other day I was driving around looking for a wifi hotspot for my laptop and when I found one I got off the road I was on very quickly. When I got done on the computer I noticed I was in a little sand (near the beach). As I put it in reverse to back up I heard this crazy noise coming from behind the dash and the truck wouldnt move and the rev's would go really high. Well it did this in forward and reverse and only when I put in it 4wd and went on out did it cease. Is this the VSC or something kicking in or is it more? Did I buy a bad one?

 

Sounds like the traction control kicking in, my 01 does the same. Normal but annoying. Search for the 'Andy mod' if you want to disable it.
