Another Question About 35" Tires

I plan on purchasing 35s and regearing, but I can get a deal on some 35s now and I don't plan on regearing for another couple of months. Will my tranny and steering rack blow up if I don't attach a cooler, and regear at the same time or can I go a couple of months with no other mods and just suffering with the power loss till I regear? Also how bad will the power loss be going from 33s to 35s?

Thanks...

I ran 35" MTRs on my jeep with the 6cyl 5 speed and 4.10 gears and it actually wasnt that bad. My original setup was 30" ATs and 3.07 gears, and 35s and 4.10s was actually an improvement. The 4runner v6 feels more powerful than my jeep 4.0L engine. I think that it will actually pull them ok, however, it will be worse than stock, but should be doable for a couple months.

i agree with aj3.

however im curious as to why youre going to 35s?

there is a lot more entailed to going up to 35s than just a regear.

i've found that 35s aren't as bad as everyone said they were going to be..i havent regeared yet..but i think i will soon for better gas mileage and to get my speedo back to normal. i've had my setup and 35s for about 4 months now and have been fine w/out regearing. are you going to go with 4:88s or 5:29s?

I was just going to do it for thrills and giggles. No real reason. My friend can get me a deal on them and I thought why not.

4RunnerGIrL, I don't know yet, I haven't searched yotatech enough to find out which would be better for my application.
