Hi all. I found this place off a search engine. I'm thiking of picking up a tacoma and I had a few questions.

1.What engine should I get and how's the MPG on it?
2.How's the aftermarket?
3.How's the dependability of these trucks?
4.How does it handle off-road and with payloads?
5.Are insurance premiums decent?

I know these are alot of questions from a n00b but I'd apprecaite and help you can give me.

3.4L V6 16/19 MPG

Awesome.

4.How does it handle off-road and with payloads?
With the TRD package, its nearly unstoppable. Payload is ok. It sags quite a bit when loaded heavily. I think the payload rating is 1600lbs or something.

5.Are insurance premiums decent?
Depends on the company and your record. But, expect to pay a pretty penny for a truck that holds its value like a Tacoma.

They are awesome trucks. Try to get a 98 or above.

 

i almost got a 2003 flareside xtracab trd 5 speed tacoma it was the coolest truck i have ever driven....it exudes power and mechanical toughness.....and they look cooler thanany other truck.....but alas i wanted leather and 4 doors so i got the runner...i still kinda regret not getting the truck.
