Anyone NOT use DOWNEY for 2nd gen rear springs ?

PP catalog has some lift springs from Eibach and also their own brand.

I have read that the Downey HD rear coils can make the 2nd gen ride a bit stiff.... anyone use anything else ?

Thanks

David

Hey!
I know some people are using the front coiles from a Land Cruiser and putting them on the rear. From what I hear, they ride great and give some lift too. Plus they're cheap. I'll probably go this route when I do a lift.

I think OME makes coils too, but not sure on this.

There are a lot of people here with more knowledge on this stuff than me, so I'm sure there are other great ideas out there.

have fun all.

I hear/read too much mismatched info about Downey rear coils. People are always selling them too. That why i decided on OME HD coils. I just bought a full OME suspension kit from www.TRDparts4U.com
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54794 You can get just the coils for probably the best price out there.

I bought the OME medium coils, I haven't installed them yet btu I went with the OME for a couple of reasons. I didn't wan ttoo much lift & have to start changing shocks & panhard brackets. I didn't want a ride that was too harsh. I do drive it in the winter as a dailey driver.

My '90 had the downey HD's. and my current '92 has allpro's. The allpros win hands down! The downeys were unstable and rode like crap! The alpro's ride better than stock. As far as off road I love the allpro's.

I got the OME mediums too and what a smooth ride. They did give quit a bit of lift. My rear sit about 1.5 inches higher than the front but I like the look. I did have to by new shocks for it but the ranchos I had on were worn out anyway. Very happy with my setup.

I have a set of the Performance Products heavy duty springs. Bought them in 1995 right after I got the truck and didn't know any better. They're OK but they are stiff. I'd for sure go with OME's the second time around.
