ARB BullBar with stock suspension.....

Would you put an ARB on an SR5 4WD with stock suspension?? I have read that front end sag may be an issue.

I guess it might sag but many put on brushguards without that consideration. I have a brushguard. Spec sheet says it weighs 75 lbs by itself. Add that to the weight of a bumper and valance and an ARB should weigh the same or less perhaps.(?) If I had an ARB right now I would slap it on and not worry about it.

Now, a winch and ARB, that would be an different story.

Well, the OEM bumper/valence/grille guard combination must weigh around 100lbs. From what Ive read, the ARB weighs about 65lbs or so.

With a WAAG grille guard, I sagged a little over 1/2". Not much, but its still a lost.

I stuck it on!

My thinking is that it isn't cool to say,"Well, I don't have a great bumper, but I still have that 0.4" of lift in the front!"

well, i'm about 135lbs, and i tested to see how much of a diff it would be on my truck. So i put all my weight on the bumper and it really didn't sag much. Plus you've got to count for the fact that the stock bumper weighs something. I don't think sag would be a huge issue w/ stock suspension.

OK I have lost my spec sheet that I had. But I measured the rim to fender and I am at 13.5". I have the ARB bumper & warn 9000lb winch on it. I fugre they weigh about 150lb together (75 each). I maybe lost .5" but I can't remember what the stock height was in the front 13.5 or 14" rim to fender. If someone can chime in with it then we will know. Besides I wan't worried. I used to have a 7' plow with hydolics on the front It weighed about 350lb and suck ouit a lot further so the canterlivered weight was about 500lb and I never had any problems in the 6 years it was on. The fron ends on these trucks are pretty solid.

P.S. 92 4 runner stock suspension so far

Matt
