I was looking for a pair of 2ohm speakers, and look at what I found
Check out the first review lolz
side note: anyone have any recommendations on locating a pair of 2ohm speakers?

hahahaha
Man I havent run those things in ages! (I nuked 2 sets of them - proving that clean power DOES kill speakers...LOL) I had an old mtx 2300x pushing them, and it kept taking out the coils on the midbasses! (the midbasses were getting all of 300 watts or so each, tweets 150)
They sound phenominal but give them less than 300 a side!!
200 should be fine. Also those old 2ohm jobbers were exactly like the old top of the line A/D/S/ 336i but with a 2ohm midrange iirc.
I think you should do fiberglass custom door panels and loacat 8 pairs of them on each door!! hehe Actually those suckers are HUGE (the grille i mean) and hard to get into a kickpanel on a 2nd gen iwthout taking up TOO much room yet still image well. If you have a 3rd gen I'd attempt the conventional teardrop shape located in the kickpanels. (Custom built kicks of course!

higher ohm the less distotion your gonna get correct?

there is 3 ways to "blow" a driver...
1. exceeding the thermal power handling capabilites
2. exceeding the mechanical capabilities (x-mech)
3. factory error or malfunction
Aside from an improper enclosure, the first 2 are byproducts of trying to run more power than the coil can thermally handle, or more power than required to reach and exceed xmax. Distortion has nothing to do with either.

As Niz said, distortion wont hurt ANY transducer.... and amps today are designed to operate down to 2ohm stereo with no issues whatsoever and in doing so the distortion levels are still very low - usually well below audible levels. My 2 channel zapcos can actually drop to 1ohm stereo and stay below audible levels.
In any event I blew the mids 2x because I was trying to pass too much power through the coil, the coil heated up, and the glue hodling the wire to the former melted/burned. And yes this was unclipped, undistorted power.

hmmm im just used to PA speakers...
its totaly difrent...pa speakers run at 4 ohm are concidred to be INSANELY low ohms...8 or 16 is seen all the time
im running 800watts x2 at 4ohms on my PA right now and ive played around with similar power but higher ohm resistance and there is SOOO much less noise with the higher ohm speakers...
i guess it becomes more aparent when you have a 15in woofer with No crossover and piezo horn tweeters
