backspacing for 16x8 rims with 285's ????

What backspacing is best to get if I want to run 285's on a 16x8 wheel? My 4runner is a 1999 with factory 16 inch wheels. I have a 1" body lift and tundra coilovers up front w/ OME shocks and springs in rear. I have looked at many posts on this and am confused. Is it 4, 4.25 or 4.5?

Somewhere from 4.5" to 4.25" BS. IIRC the OEM 16x8 wheels are 4.375" BS.

Try using the search button for "backspacing" "3rd gen" and you should find lots of information that will help you decide what you want.

Do you have quick disconnects for your front swaybar for when you go off-road? Check out my website for those (link is in my sig).

Good luck.

I have 16x8 wheels with 4" of back spacing and zero rubbing issues.

Something to keep in mind. Too much backspacing can always be adjusted with wheel spacers. Too little and there's nothing you can do.
