subwoofer option for Xtracab owners

This is a box that was done a few months ago, and I just happen to find it in my computer. Like the forgetful idiot that I am, I forgot to take the finished pics. Anyways, this is a pretty good representation of what could be done in an Xtra cab. The subs in there are JL Audio 6w0's, and this ported setup sounded really good. It won't win any SPL contests, but for everyday listening it was great.

The only problem we had later was that the dustcap came unglued, which I found out later is a common problem with the JL's. They ended up getting replaced by a pair of Digital Designs W6.5LT.

After it was covered with matching carpet, the seat folded down like normal and there was no loss in space. If anyone here in Houston wants something like this, just PM me.

Yeah, more pics. By the way what year is the truck. I might try it on my prerunner 01 xcab. Probably only one 8" or 10".

Thats the only picture I found. Like i stated in the first post, i just happen to find it on my PC. There are no other angles and there are no other pics. Use your imagination if you have to, or read the first post agian.

If you wanted to try and build the enclosure, the bottom half is fiberglass. From there it shouldn't be too hard to construct the box using the exisiting metalwork. Also, nothing had to be cut as far as the truck was concerned.

The extracab was a late 90's model. I own a 01 DC, so it was the generation right before mine.

Oh yeah, a 10" won't fit unless you want to lose the utility of your rear seat. There just isn't enough room for the port and the diameter of the sub. 8" and your are pushing it.
