i need to replace the rear axle seal in my 81 toy 4x...is this a big job? need any specail tools? I am pretty good at mechanical stuff jsut don't want to get in over my head when i start it...

 

It's not exactly a small job, you'll need both seals (inner and outer) and a new bearing and retaining collar. You'll also need a press and a special homemade tool (an axle housing cut in half and some plate welded to it) or some version of Toyota's puller unless you're lucky and the bearing falls off which is unlikely.
