Hooking a portable MP3 player up to a factory stereo

What are some options I have available for doing this? Cheaper is better, so I'm naturally assuming iPod is out of the question. I don't need a huge player either. A couple of gigs would do wonderfully.

So basically I'm assuming the only way I'm going to be able to input anything since I don't have a tape deck is to use an FM modulator. Has anybody here used one of these? How has your experience with it been?

Also, I'd appreciate some recommendations for a good player on the cheap side. Thanks!

Wireless FM mods SUCK BALLS.
FM mods dont suck as much, but they still suck.

LOL

For the BEST sound, replace your deck with a deck that has an auxiliary input, be it RCA or minipin (1/8" jack). Those are the only routes that will give you cd quality.

I do NOT recommend ANY wireless FM modulator, but if you MUST FM mod, go with a wired unit....

Unless you have some type of input on your current headunit, you are probably stuck with a FM modulated unit of some sort. You could check out crutchfield and see if they have any specials on MP3 headunits/changers. A friend of mine recently picked up a Alpine CDE-9843 for about $150 and they are prtty pleased with it.

Ever thought about XM or Sirius?

here in boston, theyre impossible. i hated mine, it really genuinely didnt work.

for it to operate correctly, you need a station that consistently gets NO signal. even the slightest signal will kill your sound (fuzziness, etc)... so I really hated it and all my friends that use them have similar experiences here.

just make sure you can find a station with no signal before you purchase.

Well I guess I'll save my pennies for a new receiver.

Got my eye on this one:

Pioneer DEH-P770MP

Seems decent, no?
