Wal-mart Wonders

My mom took her car to Wal-mart to get the battery replaced. When she got in to go home her radio worked but not the CD player. It is an aftermarket deck I bought from best buy for her. Not sure the brand, I think kenwood. Could it be fixed? Or did they fry the CD player?
Thanks

*sigh* stupid idiots at wally world....

Check all fuses - pull each and every one if you must. Be aware that the blown fuse could be underhood. And be meticulous! We have had many many customers stating that they have checked the fuses and get irate when we start to check them... Much to their embarressment, we always find a blown fuse....

If all fuses are intact pull the deck and make sure that 12v is being fed to BOTH the blue and the blue white wire. Blue is your power turn on lead for the amp and Blue/White is for the antenna...it sounds like the blue got disconnected somehow...

the radio works but not the cd player? that doesnt sound like a fuse blown. there is no reason they should have been anywhere near the wiring behind the headunit to disconnect a wire or short something out, but then i doubt its the amp turn on or whatever as the radio works.... i am thinking 1 of 2 things: the deck coincidentally jsut decided it hated life and commited suicide, or there is some kind of security interlock feature not allowing the cd player to work since the battery was disconnected

I figured it out. Like always it was something simple. There is a small reset button on the face of the deck. You have to use a pen but that’s all that was wrong. Thanks for all the help and ideas.

Was this on the 4Runner? Can you describe the problem in detail? Mine has the same issue...you put in a CD and it spits it right back out again without even attempting to read it; I'm hoping it's as simple fix as yours!
