recall on 3.0 v6 head gaskets?

anyone knwo anything bout a recall on 3vze head gaskets? back in 1997?

Call your nearest Toyota dealer and give them your VIN #. They'll be able to tell you if it has been done already. If it has been done, you are SOL. If not, they will most likely replace the head gasket, and any other engine parts that made need it for free.

Even if you don't feel you "need" the head gasket - if it hasn't been done ... take 'er in and have 'em do it. The problem will surface at some point....so go ahead and have it replaced.

***Word of warning: don't listen to the stealership when they say that "since it's apart we recommend you doing this and that and this and that because all that stuff should be done, blah blah blah" ----- just tell 'em - nope: new head gasket and put it back together, thank you.

it had the gasket done.. and as i understand its better to wait till it blows on its own if you can afford three weeks or so out fo a truck.. the have to replace everything that goes wrong because of it..
