Bushwackers finally installed + new pics

After two weeks of sanding and painting. I finally had the time to install the Bushwackers. The install went smooth. I was fearing having to cut the flares to fit my running boards but the Dremel cut through them like butta. I'm excited about the truck's new look. Please give me some feedback. I also added some other pics of my trck. I went a little nuts so I am sorry about the download time. There is about 8 or so pics.

LOVE THOSE TAILS !!!!!

Very nice looking Momo.
A long time ago I wanted to mate a set to my running boards when I ran them, but did not have the talent to do it.

I ran across this guy's site a few years back and had talked to him how he did his.
I think he is a member here now.

They look really good color coded to the rig too.
Very sharp looking.

I see your wheels are very similar to my winter ones I run from November through late March.

Nice

I love that monochromatic look. You should probably also paint your valence to match.

I love the tails. Have you thought about Butnut's silver bulb mod? It looks good on clears since you don't get any amber coming through with the lights off (only when on). I guess all you need now are clear corners...

Beautiful rig. Is that 2WD? Your console is missing something.

Is your grille insert a kit, or is it the gutter guard? I like it on the front like you did. I opted to put mine behind (major PITA).

NICE! Nicely done. I had been kicking around the idea of b.w. flares for my 4Runner, but didnt think they would look nice on my rig. ( gloss blk. flares on toyota gold?) Now the thought of painting them to match is VERY appealing. You said in a past post thats from a spray can?? WOW. Nice match. I'd do it (and will) if I can find a spay can to match up that close!
I am NOT keeping the running boards though. I cant believe the crap those things collect!

I need to know where you got those diamond plate carpet covers. They look awsome.

We're on the same page. That is for sure going to be my next mod. The clear corners are in the works as well.

The paint I used was Plasti-kote import paint bought @ Pep boys. I checked out all the colors and did see the Toyota gold.

Thanks for looking!!

1runner- If you want to see what your color 4runner would look with color matched fender flares go to Chris' page a.k.a Strech786. He has a gold 4runner with Bushwhackers on it. Looking great Momo. I've gone with the monochromatic color scheme as well. Good luck and keep us updated.

The daimond plate inserts were also purchased at Pep Boys. I seem to go there a lot! They cost about $10 each. They can be found with all the "ricey" stuff.
The grill is simply gutter gaurd cut to fit. the mesh on the valance is of lesser quality and will be replaced soon. I'm all about mods on the cheap and rather put the elbow grease iin myself.

This might be a silly question but what is the differences between the Hilux Surf and the American 4runner. I would like to do a Hilux conversion just to be a little different.

Momo very nice looking! I love my Bushwhackers. had em on almost a week so far. Was wondering what kind of set up you have going there for rear mudflaps? I need something on mine but want the clean lined look. There are several differences on the HIlux most of which cannot be duplicated easily. They have a few cool features like a limited slip diff, an in cab shock adjustment knob, and mostly the steering wheel is on the opposite side! The Hilux emblems are pretty cool though. For more info look at the Hilux Surf Site They have a pretty active forum there as well.

Thanx for the Hilux info. I mostly want to make the conversion cosmetic. I really like the side view mirror on the fender, I think that looks very cool. I still have my factory mudflaps. I cut the flares to fit over them. If you need to see a pic let me know. It was pretty easy to do but it made me nervous. I mean $300!!!!

Glad you bumped it, as the link I had above for my wheels like yours was dead.
I had to rebuild my entire site last week, and I had moved the pic to a new folder.

Yep yep yep, the Bushies are still one of my favorite mods to date.
I have many faves, but them and Downey coils are tops.

(sorry about the first photo.. I no longer have that page up, and it seems as though a photo got renamed..)

I kinda like it all painted myself.. Here is a good view of the front valance painted to match..

Momo,

Looking good man. I've always liked the Bushwakers on 2nd gens. I see you are in Pensacola, FL. I am from Mobile, AL, but I am in Auburn, AL, right now. I used go to Pensacola sometimes to get a break from Mobile and also from the AL beaches. We used to drive all that way to go to the Mesquite Charlies(sp?) restaurant. Good food. Anyways, your 4Runner looks good man.
