Comments on Fram Oil Filters

I used to use Fram filters because a long time ago I read an article in Consumer Reports and the Fram filters were rated the top. Well that was about 12 years ago or so. I've been lurking here for awhile and learned that the Fram was crap. I was doubtful at first but decided to check into it. Well I got a Wix today and removed the Fram off my truck. I noticed that the holes in the Wix were a lot larger than the Fram and the anti drainback seal seemed much more robust on the Wix. After I replaced it I noticed that the oil pressure on the gauge was a little higher than with the Fram.

I've abandoned the Fram and now will use Wix. No more Fram filters for me!!

You're welcome. I forgot to mention that the truck is a 1996 T100 4x4 SR5 with the 3.4L engine. After comparing the filters side by side, I noticed that the Wix just looked like it was made of better quality materials. Sorry I don't have pics to post. I was in a hurry!!
