1st gen v-6 gas mileage w/ auto.

Well I think that I may have settled on what my next rig will be, its a 89 runner, 3slow,slushbox, no lift stock tires,

my questions are,

how bad is the gas mileage and power going to be with stock gears and 33's or 32's, all terrains of somesort, and 11.5 wide.

and also, what difficulties am i going to run into installing a body lift on this rig with a auto tranny?

thanks
wade

It depends on if it has the 4.56 or 4.88 gears. I'm running 4.56s with 31s which is about 3" bigger than stock and it's not great. Gas mileage will depend on the rig, how well it runs, and if it's be taken care of. I get 15 around town but my rig runs well and I've got some power mods.

I think anything more than 1" and you will have to extend stuff.

mines a 2nd gen, but I run 33's with an auto and the stock 4.10's, and I get about 12.5 mpg.

stick with 31's, you will get better mileage and power out of it. if it has the 4:56s, you can get as much as 17 cty/21 hwy. a bit less if has the 4:10s.
