Can anybody tell me what (or where I can find) are the specs for the stock Double DIN stereo in the Tacoma/4Runner?

Anybody tried changing the green illumination on their stereo yet?

 

Don't know the specs, but I changed the color of the illumination on an Alpine 7909 I had from green to amber. Basically I took the green bulb covers off and replaced them with amber. I had to unsolder a few bulbs and replace them also. The vac fluor display was changed by using an amber gel like they use in stage lighting. Not hard, but kinda time consuming...

 

If I'm not mistaken, the '01+ Tacoma's come amber already, if you want to change color, just find a newer taco radio and swap it out. ( I like green better IMO )

 

Yeah, I already thought about using lighting gels to change the color.
Right now I've just pulled the green condoms off of my gauge/HVAC lights (much better thatn the BLAH green). I'm going to leave it like that until I'm sure I can get the color of all the nite lites to match. I'm currently still partial to blue....
No idea of the ideas about the power ratings on the stock unit?

 

If you wanna change your color the easy way get one of the new alpines .Alpine 7894 or you could get the newest version that comes out in late jan Alpine 9813 and i thinks theres a few more that you can switch back and forth from amber or green.
