22r out, 3.0 in?

Here's some background first, I own a 1985 toy xcab 4x4 with a 22r carb
engine that now has a cracked head, I also have a 1989 toy 4x4 with a 3.0
v-6 engine, the 89 was rolled and totaled but the engine runs perfectly.

My question is, Has anybody swapped a toy 3.0 v-6 into a 85 toy chassis?
If so what are the pro's and con's with this swap?

Suprising to hear the 3.0 in good shape after a roll. From what I hear, the 3.0 loves to detonate after being rolled. I think if it is rolled onto the passenger side it is the most likely to come apart. Over on Pirate4x4.com there are a number of threads dealing with that.
If the 3.0 is in good shape, I say sell it to somebody looking for a good one, flog off whatever parts you can from the rolled truck and use the $ to buy an EFI swap for the truck with the cracked head. In the long run, it will probably be much cheaper and easier. The engine, tranny, transfercase on the 3.0 don't interchange with the 22r and I believe even the motor mounts would have to be cut and rewelded. Add all the wiring changes and other work and I can't see it being worth it.
Or, use all the $ from the parts and go buy a nice performance head, cam and carb and have some extra kick in the pants factor when you are done.
Simply so I can be first to say it, you could sell both motors and odds and ends and swap in a 7mge out of a Supra and really have something to talk about!

I would have to agree with Fahrenheit 451. Sell'um and fix the 22r you will be happier in the long run...
