Tacoma Question

My tranny seems to fail to downshift on occasion when I come to a stop. Any idea how to remedy this problem? or rather the cause there of? Also, I am looking for a way to put the finess back into my auto tranny as of late it feels a tad stiff and is shifting rough from first to second. I own a 2001 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Trd V6 with 60 thousand miles. Just routine oil changes and brakes, never tuned up.

Never tuned-up? Did you buy this new? 60K is way past time for a tune-up, tranny fluid and diff change. You feel that in your tranny because of you've never changed out your fluid!
